The Story

In a world where the rain never stops and magic flows from the sky like water, a young girl named Vyria discovers she is not who she believes herself to be. She is Trya—ancient, powerful, and fated to destroy everything she has come to love. When strangers in mirror armor arrive hunting demons, her quiet life in the Anyplace shatters like glass in a storm.

The world stopped spinning long ago. Locked in eternal twilight, one side burns under an unmoving sun while the other freezes in endless dark. Only the rain brings balance—and with it, Affixion, the magical force that grants power to those brave enough to drink from the sky before the water touches earth. But the Patch that holds this broken reality together is failing.

Three souls are bound by prophecy: The Witness who will tear down the old world, The Creator who will build anew, and The Counterpart whose choices will determine whether any of them survive. As ancient forces awaken and the pattern of the skies reveals its final design, Viri must embrace a destiny written in rain and remember a past drowned in forgetting.

Characters

Vyria

The Witness

A fifteen-year-old girl who loves the rain and lives in the secluded town of the Anyplace. She is actually Trya, an ancient Augur who has forgotten her past, fated to witness and cause the world's destruction and rebirth. Her journey spans death and resurrection, memory and forgetting.

Knash

The Counterpart

A resourceful orphan from the workhouses of Gro Pyrdruv. Unpredictable and clever, his choices will determine the success or failure of the ancient prophecy. His fate is mysteriously linked to those he encounters, especially through his connection with death itself.

Darheinem

The Creator

The brilliant King of Zeria who sees ten moves ahead in every game. Destined to rebuild the world after its destruction, he forms a dangerous alliance with Viri while knowing their fates are intertwined in ways neither fully understands.

Watcher

The Malevolent Guide

An ancient entity who stalks Viri through time, eventually inhabiting her mind. He takes many forms, manipulating events from the shadows while savoring the darkness he brings. His true nature remains a mystery even to himself.

Travaran

The Render

A cynical but powerful soul Returned from the Lowers. He wields destructive fire magic and travels at impossible speeds using an ancient chain. Serving as both guide and antagonist, his motives remain as fluid as flame.

Allia

The Loyal Friend

Viri's childhood companion who refuses to abandon her even as the world falls apart. She discovers her own fire magic among the Songs' People and becomes a fierce protector of those she loves, paying a terrible price for power.

The World of Atlea

A world frozen in time, where one side burns eternal and the other sleeps in ice

Magic flows from the rain—Affixion that has not touched the earth

Mortals born with the gift to manipulate pure Affixion, creating shields of frozen water and reshaping matter

Souls Returned from the Lowers who wield Adherence—destructive magic of fire and force

Souls from the Uppers who use Diversion to create and infuse objects with stolen traits

Fatecasting

The highest magic—prophecy that shapes reality itself, binding souls across time

The Chronicle

The Rending

The Afterworld splits into the corrupted Uppers and Lowers, tearing a hole between worlds and releasing Affixion into Atlea.

The Age of War

Magic creates monsters and Augurs. The world nearly tears itself apart in devastating conflicts.

The Staying

Ancient Augurs create the Patch to seal the Tear, accidentally stopping the world's rotation. Affixion becomes confined to the nightly rains.

The Prophecy

The ancients fatecast three figures: The Witness, The Creator, and The Counterpart. As the Patch begins to fail, their time has come.
